Avatar world game
In recent years, Ubisoft’s open worlds, like Assassin’s Creed and Far Cry, have increasingly become “checklists,” giving you an absurd amount of map markers to unveil, quests to tackle, and items to collect. BLACKPINK’s Lisa Increases Her $28M Net Worth While Star Wars Outlaws still uses that same basic formula, its approach is drastically more exploration-focused. You have general guidance for main quests, but Kay will often have to explore wide areas to find an objective or person, and exploration, in general, can lead to a domino effect of uncovering new things to do. Maybe you lean against the cantina wall and listen in on a conversation, or pick up a datapad while scouring an abandoned outpost. There are so many ways to uncover new quests and details in Outlaws, all of which engross you in the game’s world even further.
Surprisingly, Outlaws reminds me a lot of Jedi: Fallen Order, a foundation that’s undeniably good and introduces a cast of characters that I already love — but one that could be so much more if it’s given a second chance. I desperately hope Outlaws is given that.
Speaking of hacking, I’m an instant fan of Outlaws’ takes on lockpicking and computer “slicing.” Kay picks locks using the same twisty key device that we always see R2D2 open doors with, but Ubisoft has gamified that tech into a quick rhythm minigame. As the concentric circles of gears rotate, you listen for beeps, remember the rhythm, then repeat it a few times to beat the lock. Slicing is even better—in a stroke of borrowed genius, hacking in Outlaws is basically a miniature version of Wordle with symbols instead of letters. Toward the end of my demo, I followed a quest that led to a slicing tech upgrade that unlocked a harder version of the minigame with more symbols.

World War 3 is a free-to-play first-person shooter developed and published by Wishlist Games in collaboration with The 4 Winds Entertainment for Microsoft Windows. Like the remora, which is relatively powerless without the shark, North Korea’s autonomy is limited by its reliance on China. Korea depends heavily on China for economic support, trade, and diplomatic backing. North Korea’s unpredictable behavior and nuclear capabilities make it a potential addition to the wildcard. While not necessarily a central player, North Korea’s actions could destabilize the region, particularly if it aligns with China.

Small world board game
The bottom line: Days of Wonder picked a winner when they decided to make over Vinci, the area control classic that garnered an Official Recommendation in 2000 from the folks at Spiel des Jahres. Both Vinci and the veritable gaming empire that has grown from the base edition of Small World are the design of Philippe Keyaerts, and they’ve withstood two decades in the industry with no end in sight.
Aside from some of the specific quirks of attempted domination—how tokens enter and leave the board, how the various territory types aid specific races and powers, etc.—these are the nuts and bolts of Small World. Every turn is a constant barrage of cardboard activity. Depending on the player count, eight to ten rounds are sufficient to declare a winner.
Even when a game is finished and published, it’s not easy to stop working on the design. I’m really happy to have the opportunity to look back at some ideas and explore the Small World universe even more deeply with Small World Underground.
We take this game camping with us with my in-laws and the only down side is that seven people can’t play. We ALL love it! Our youngest was 10 when he first played and he’s now 14 and still can’t get enough. Our other two kids, 17 and 20, my wife and I, and my mother- and father-in-law (87) can easily get playing and laughing long past bedtime. We love the board game, too, but the app makes it super easy to keep track and to go fast enough that no one is ever bored. The extensions are a MUST. Once you get the hang of it, definitely add them in one at a time to keep the fun going. Especially once you have them all, the power + creature combos are endless.
